Disney+ has a new show coming out called The World According to Jeff Goldblum and, based on this trailer for the series, it’s going to feature Mr. Goldblum at peak Goldblum. You’ve got the thick-rimmed glasses, the stammering and chin scratching. You’ve got Goldblum’s bizarre, winning charm and that signature personality that makes you think of a college professor who would teach you about astrophysics and possibly get high with you after class.
These globe-trotting documentary series have become increasingly popular over the years thanks to Anthony Bourdain and others like him. It seems that instead of focusing on specific foreign nations and cultures, Goldblum’s show will be about particular interests: video games, sports, ice cream, cooking. That might not initially sound like the most exciting show on earth but Goldblum hosting the series adds A LOT. I’d check out anything if I was doing it with Jeff Goldblum!
Goldblum goes on record in the trailer above to say he isn’t trying to be professorial but the guy can’t help it. He always has an air of a teacher, a scholar, a lovable and knowledgeable uncle who you are just dying to hang out with. Plus the dude has a wicked sense of fashion.
The World According to Jeff Goldblum is just one of the MANY shows airing on Disney+ when it debuts in November. While it may not be a Marvel or Disney property, it’s definitely worth your time. When Jeff Goldblum asks you to go on an adventure, you say yes!
