Don’t Worry, Folks, More ‘Power Rangers’ Shows & Movies Are Coming

If you’re anything like me, you stay awake late at night in a near feverish state wondering when we will see more Power Rangers movies.

Well, I have great news for you. Not only will there be more Power Rangers movies in the future, there will be more Power Rangers TV projects too. The Hollywood Reporter says It’s the End of the F—ing World creator Jonathan Entwistle will “engineer and shepherd” both film and television adaptations of the popular kids property filled with colorful outfits, gigantic mechs and intergalactic baddies.

Power Rangers first became a big deal back in the 1990s, when kids everywhere were sucked into the Hasbro series and its over-the-top theatrics. The Mighty Morphin Power Rangers was actually an American show that used a lot of footage from a previously-released Japanese program. That was the recipe for success, though, as the Rangers became a behemoth of ratings and, more importantly, merchandising. If you grew up in the 90s, you had some Power Rangers toys. Even I had a few of them and I never even got into the show.

There was a Power Rangers movie back in 2017 that was decidedly much more adult. The movie didn’t set the box office on fire so don’t expect Entwistle’s new projects to be connected to it.

We aren’t sure what Entwistle will do with the property but he certainly has a lot of space to play in. Movies and TV? Hasbro and eOne (Hasbro’s production banner running Rangers) obviously see a bright future ahead for the franchise. A whole new generation of viewers are about to experience bad karate, overacting and bright, shiny costumes.
