At long last, Frame Work reaches the end of the David Fincher filmography with Mank, his strange ode to/repudiation of the Pre-War Hollywood leisure class. Returning champ Joon Kim is on hand to ask the big Mank questions everyone’s been stewing on since last year’s Oscar season, such as why would anyone make a Black & White movie in 2020? Why cast Gary Oldman in a role he’s plainly twenty five years too old for and plays against his strengths? How does this compare to Tarantino’s wallow in Hollywood’s past from the previous year? And what’s all this authorship stuff in the last fifteen minutes? And at the end, we decide who the next director we’ll be talking about in detail will be. Mank!

Look for conversations on all previous Fincher movies on the podcast app of your choice, under the name Frame Work (the name of our little program here). Just look for this artwork!
