In this latest installment of The QT Question, Al and myself take on Tarantino’s collaboration with pop studio director Tony Scott, the immensely fun 90s thriller True Romance. Is it a love story for the ages, or is it rather some little Hollywood dork’s fantasy about what it must be like to be in love? Well, it’s clearly the latter, but in the end, that ends up being a secret strength, and makes this actually quite charming! Listen to us discuss Tarantino’s dream version of himself, revel in the parade of great, tuned-in character actors and debate the eternal question: Hopper vs Walken, or Gandolfini vs Arquette?
There are, I’m afraid, some technical issues in this episode, primarily an unfortunate echo. We are in the process of upgrading our facilities, and ask for your patience, just this once, while we sort it out for future recordings.
