I guess Marvel heard my talk about how studios disclosing new release dates for postponed films gives people hope. Because they just divulged a whole lot of dates for movies that were pushed around because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

What’s that you feel, deep in your bones? Hope, my friends. It is hope.

Essentially what Marvel did was push all of their films back. So Black Widow will now open on November 6, 2020. That was originally going to be the premiere date for The Eternals so that film has been moved to February 21, 2021. But that used to be the release day for Shang Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings so that film has moved to May 7, 2021. There are a few more changes but you get the idea: everything has been pushed back.

Though I am sure these weren’t the circumstances they envisioned for revealing this news but Marvel also said that Captain Marvel 2 will be released on July 8, 2022 after being an “Untitled Marvel Movie” for awhile with the debut date of July 29, 2022. But don’t worry, Marvel has a brand new “Untitled Marvel Movie” though it has sadly been tentatively removed from the schedule. But don’t worry, gang, I am sure that top-secret movie will be back. Have faith. Have hope.

Oh, Disney also announced that that next Indiana Jones film has been pushed from July 9, 2021 to July 29, 2022 Because that’s what that film needs.

Here’s the rundown once again so you can fill in your calendar.

  • BLACK WIDOW is now dated on 11/6/20

  • THE ETERNALS previously dated on 11/6/20 moves to 2/12/21

  • SHANG CHI AND THE LEGEND OF THE TEN RINGS previously dated on 2/12/21 moves to 5/7/21

  • DOCTOR STRANGE IN THE MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS previously dated on 5/7/21 moves to 11/5/21

  • THOR: LOVE AND THUNDER previously dated on 11/5/21 moves to 2/18/22

  • UNTITLED MARVEL previously dated on 2/18/22 is removed from schedule

  • CAPTAIN MARVEL 2 is the updated title of previous UNTITLED MARVEL dated on 7/29/22, and moves to 7/8/22
