Jordan Peele Is Going to Hunt Nazis
You know what, it's about time someone starts hunting Nazis. These mouth-breathers are popping up all over the damn place lately and we really need to fight back and smoke these sickos out of their hiding holes. Enter Jordan Peele.
The Get Out director is developing a TV show about a real-life group of Nazi hunters in 1970s America. THR says the show, titled The Hunt, is about "a diverse band of Nazi hunters in 1970s America as they set out on a quest for revenge and justice — tracking and killing hundreds of Nazis who, with the unconscionable help of the U.S. government, escaped justice and embedded themselves in American society." Oh man, this premise gets my Jewish blood PUMPING.
Peele won't be directing or writing the show. Rather he'll be executive producing while David Weil also produces and writes the series. Still, Peele's involvement will bring a lot of attention to the project. Sure enough, The Reporter says several networks are already very eager to start bidding on it.
It's sad that a show about people tracking down Nazis forty years ago will be relevant in TWO THOUSAND FUCKING SEVENTEEN but that's the world we live in. Unfortunately, methinks we will be seeing a lot of art similar to The Hunt over the next four or (gulp) eight years. Art has a way of putting its finger on the pulse of our society. When there is a lack of heroes or a glut of villains, art has an ability to show us a world where the right thing is done and the bad guys are brought to justice. It's cathartic really. Hunt on, Nazi trackers. We're all rooting you on.
