Lara "Long Neck" Croft Looks Tough in 'Tomb Raider' Poster

It ain't easy being Lara Croft: Tomb Raider. She spends all her time getting dirty and dangerous as she travels the globe raiding tombs!

It's got to be even more difficult because her neck is fucked up beyond belief. Just look at this thing, it's so long and crooked and unnatural. But, hey, at least you can still see her butt clearly.

That's, of course, Alicia Vikander as the iconic video game character. She's looking appropriately badass but, yeah, her neck is all sorts of bonkers. Aside from that she looks pretty spot-on. She certainly looks pissed off and a little worse for wear. That's good news because that means this film will be far more faithful to the source material than its cinematic predecessor. At least she will have a proper accent.

In the years since Angelina Jolie's attempt at Tomb Raider, the character in the games has evolved quite a bit. She's no longer as one dimensional as she once was. Well, she's still technically one dimensional because she lives inside a video game but you know what I mean. And it seems Vikander's take on Croft will be heavily inspired by the critically acclaimed reboot that took the gaming world by storm a couple years back.

There's still a big chance this movie will be a dud. Yes, the games have gotten better but a superb game-to-movie adaptation has yet to be made. And, yes, Vikander is an Oscar winner but so was Jolie and that Tomb Raider ended up being a complete mess. Still, you have to believe that this movie is on the right track. How cool would it be if the first worthwhile video game movie starred an ass-kicking woman?
