A few years back, there was this one movie that got some attention on the internet, Rian Johnson’s The Last Jedi. Love it or hate it, it’s proven to be the most seismic releases of the decade, and the weird heart of a wildly popular series of films that appears to be at war with itself. Frame Work welcomes a new guest to show, the astute and reasonable Brett Blake, to discuss why this one lingers in either the popular consciousness or in people’s craws, whichever side you take. Is it an ambitious swerve for the franchise, a smug lecture on the previous film’s cravenness, or kind of just business as usual? We’re getting into all of it, from Canto Bight to Rose Tico to the baby boomer’s stranglehold of pop culture to the film’s biggest swing of all, the handling of Luke Skywalker. There is truly nothing like arguing about Star Wars with friends.
