As the old adage says, a Comedy is only as successful as its villain, and this week on Frame Work, we’re taking a look at some of the all time greats. It’s a celebration of all the bullies, snobs, bureaucrats and sex-pests that managed the trick of being both hateful and hilarious. We’re looking at the mechanics of how to pull that off, the social dynamics at play in Snobs Vs Slobs flicks, why golf is such fertile ground for the comedy villain, and also a little bit on films where the villain is too successfully realized and ends up becoming the audience’s rooting interest.

And listen to our old episodes too, why don’t you? You can scroll down the main page here, or even easier, look for us on the podcast app of your choice. And, if the spirit takes you, ratings and reviews sure do help when it comes to people finding the show, so anything along those lines would be extra appreciated.
