Frame Work: The Snyder Cut and the Winter Soldier

As much as we were enjoying a stroll through Hobbiton, the entire staff of the Frame Work podcast (Al and myself) felt the events of the past week demanded a conversation on all things superheroic. Two big Marvel shows, one ending and and one beginning, and of course, the long-threatened arrival of Zack Snyder’s undiluted vision, the four-hour Snyder Cut of Justice League. After mainlining the entire opus, we sat down and discussed our thoughts on this unprecedented cinematic event, the career of Zack Snyder, and the general state of the DCEU. We’re interrogating the idea of ‘mature’ superhero entertainment, bitching about Steppenwolf, pondering the singing fishwives of Iceland, and trying to figure out how speedsters work. Fair warning, we didn’t like it, but what can you do? And following that, some more thoughts on how Wandavision turned out and how The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is looking to start with.

We’ll be back with more Lord of the Rings next week. And as always, if you’d like to hear our back catalogue (coming up on thirty episodes here!), you can find us in all the familiar places, by which I mean just about everywhere you download your podcasts. Just look for the logo below. And we’d love it if you wanted to leave ratings or reviews in those places, because then more people hear about the show! Thank you kindly!
