Finch Club: Alien3

Alien-3-David-Fincher.jpg

The Frame Work podcast starts a brand new miniseries on the works of David Fincher this week, with his compromised, chaotic stab at studio franchise filmmaking, Alien3! We also welcome as our guest Bill Heidrich, on hand to defend the honor of this divisive cult hit. We’re talking about the tortured development process (including three cancelled previous versions of the film), the difference between grimdark and nihilism, whether there’s any room for the franchise’s traditional feminist conversations in this enclave of scurrying bald, wet men, a bit of chat about Saw Guerrera, and of course, ask if this movie is the tribute to suicide it sometimes appears to be.

And of course, you can also download us on your podcast app of choice, along with all previous and future episodes, including our last miniseries on Quentin Tarantino. Look for the logo below! And if you would like to help the podcast, please rate or review it on these sites! Favorably! Next week, we’ll be changing pace, with a look at the influence of Dungeons and Dragons on popular culture, and of course, more Finch Club coming soon as well.
