Nothing — not even apocalyptic death raining from the sky — can stop Gerard Butler from keeping family safe.

That’s the basic premise behind Greenland, the new thriller starring Butler and directed by Angel Has Fallen filmmaker Ric Roman Waugh. The film tells the story of an average family man who must race across the country (and world) in order to save his family from a comet that will wipe out life on Earth. It’s a tale as old as time!

The trailer shows us nothing new. Every aspect of Greenland has been explored in multiple films (Deep Impact, War of the Worlds, World War Z) but this time it’s got Butler and his indestructible Ford F-150! I’m not knocking Greenland. In fact, this is the first Butler action film that I want to see. What can I say, I am a sucker for these disaster movies. And although we have seen the same old “fractured family in peril” plot about a million times before, I am more than willing to strap in again for the ride.
