‘Becky’ Trailer: A Young Girl Is Terrorized By…Kevin James?

IMG_0971.png

Kevin James is a murderous, ruthless racist ex-con.

In a movie! Let me clarify, that is the role James is playing for a new film called Becky, the trailer for which is posted below. James, best known for portraying schlubby, relatable everymen, is definitely playing against type in the movie. He plays an escaped murderer on the run with his criminal gang who holds an innocent family against their will so he can find a precious key. But what James’s character doesn’t count on is the family’s young daughter, Becky. And Becky isn’t having any of it. What follows is a cat-and-mouse chase with brutal violence and guns, all between a teenager and one of America’s favorite sitcom stars.

I started watching the Becky trailer without expecting much because how excited can you get about a thriller co-starring Kevin James? However, the movie actually looks quite good and I’m a bit impressed. Is it redundant and borrowing too much from films like Die Hard? It sure is but that doesn’t mean Becky won’t be a good time. Besides, where else are you going to get a bearded, one-eyed, gun-wielding Kevin James? That sure as shit isn’t happening in Grown Ups 3.

Becky hits VOD on June 5.
