You Can Breathe Easy: ‘Space Jam 2’ Has An Official Title

While everyone is talking about Michael Jordan’s incredible basketball career because of ESPN’s excellent The Last Dance, no one is talking about Space Jam. But why? Why hasn’t there been an entire episode devoted to Jordan’s time spent with Bugs Bunny and the Looney Toons gang?

Oh, maybe it’s because Space Jam is most definitely not a good movie. I know many people hold the film near and dear but look into your heart, you know it to be true. The plot makes very little sense, Jordan’s performance is...phew, ho boy...and the basketball action isn’t even that exciting to watch. All in all, not good!

But that doesn’t mean the sequel will be bad. It involves a far better actor, Lakers star LeBron James, and will include much better technology and animation too. All the movie needs is a really wonderful title, huh?

Well, how about Space Jam: A New Legacy? Because that is the official title for the movie. Not only did it get a new title, it also got a cool illuminated logo. Behold!

James himself confirmed the title with this hypnotic, backwards video on his Twitter page.

We honestly don’t know much about Space Jam: A New Legacy. We don’t know which Looney Toons characters will star, we don’t know if any other WB properties will make their way into the film, we don’t know why the Looney Toons are playing basketball again. I mean, wasn’t that game from the first film a once-in-a-lifetime event? Here they are on the court again? Don’t they have other ways to solve their problems?

Space Jam: A New Legacy will dribble onto the big screen on July 16, 2021 which will hopefully be just a month after the Lakers win another Finals.
