‘Disney Gallery: The Mandalorian’ Trailer Gives A Taste Of More baby Yoda

In these dark times, people need hope more than ever. And by that I mean that people need Baby Yoda more than ever because, let’s be real, Baby Yoda is hope.

The new Disney+ series Disney Gallery: The Mandalorian is a behind-the-scenes show that gives insight into the creation of the now-famous Star Wars show including its little green breakout star. The 8-episode series will contain round table discussions with filmmakers and cast and also footage from production. The trailer below gives us glimpses of all that, including the adorable Baby Yoda being brought to life on set. He’s so precious even when he has a puppeteer surgically attached to him.

Eight episodes seems like a lot for a docuseries (especially for a show that had such a short first season) but Disney knows who butters its bread; people still love The Mandalorian and are willing to watch any and everything about it. So, for some, eight episodes aren’t nearly enough.

Disney Gallery looks like a good time and I hope that the show eventually goes behind-the-scenes of other Disney and Lucasfilm properties, including those from the past. Don’t get me wrong, I am excited to see how The Mandalorian was made but the show just came out and is still front-and-center in the cultural consciousness. Perhaps after this Disney Gallery series can take a look back at shows and movies of yesteryear, gathering up the old teams and giving fans inside scoops that have been lost to time. Disney has an extensive back catalogue and the power to turn Disney Gallery into something really special. Let’s hope it doesn’t end after they dig into The Mandalorian

Disney Gallery: The Mandalorian debuts on Disney+ on May 4. Duh.
