I am so excited for this I can’t stand it. I love the Dolemite movies, listening to and laughing along with Rudy Ray Moore’s party records, and I couldn’t be more hyped to see this new movie after watching that trailer. Dolemite Is My Name looks like it’s going to be a blast.
The film is a Netflix exclusive with a release date coming later this year. Everybody’s in this thing. Keegan-Michael Key plays actor, screenwriter and collaborator Jerry Jones, Mike Epps is “Mr. Motion” Jimmy Lynch, Tituss Burgess is producer Theodore Toney, Craig Robinson as singer and composer Ben Taylor and there’re cameos from Luenell, Snoop Dogg and even T. I. among tons of others.
