Christopher Nolan’s Next Movie Has a Release Date

I don’t know about you but I just feel good knowing Christopher Nolan is working on a new film. No matter what is going on in the world or your personal life, you can rest assured that Nolan is holed up somewhere, plotting his latest intense, deftly-assembled and emotionally-cold opus. Sleep well, children, Uncle Christopher is slowly but surely on his way to wow audiences and set critics’ tongues wagging. 

And now we know how long we have to wait for the next Nolan project. The Hollywood Reporter says the director’s next film will debut on July 17, 2020. And, yes, before you ask it’ll of course debut in IMAX. Did you have any doubt? As for other tidbits about the upcoming movie...well, that’s about it. As you know, Mr Nolan rarely ever reveals anything about his movies when they’re in production. If it were up to him, you probably wouldn’t even see a trailer for the film. You’d just show up on opening day, sit down and start the film without any knowledge of what you’re about to see. I kinda like that idea but I’m also hungry for more information about whatever Nolan is cooking up. 

Whatever it is, this will be Nolan’s first project since his first Best Director Oscar nomination. The man has been on a roll for years now and his creative focus, control and, frankly, skills continue to grow. What will this July 17, 2020 production be like? Will it be a sci-fi epic like Interstellar, a historical thriller like Dunkirk or perhaps another mind-bending adventure like Inception? That’s what’s so exciting about Nolan, he’s one of the few major mainstream film makers who is continually changing it up. 

Don’t ever change, Christopher Nolan.  But maybe tweak the audio in your movies so we can better understand the characters. 

“Okay, Christian, you keep doing that gruff, animalistic voice. Tom, keep it up with that bizarre, muffled sing-songy thing. Great work, fellas.”
